JOB POSTING: Marketing & Research Administrator

We have an amazing role for a talented and motivated individual who loves organizing people, events and projects! We are seeking a Marketing & Research Administrator to take on this dynamic and multi-faceted role that will contribute to our growing business.

The Manitoba Canola Grower Association (MCGA) is the provincial association representing 7,500 canola farmers in Manitoba, and is committed to maximizing net income for canola farmers through sustainable production.

This is a full time position supervised by the Canola Eat Well Director, and reporting to the Executive Director.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Market Development Administration (50% role)
    • Market Development national committee coordination
    • Market Development staff coordination
    • Data and metrics administration
    • Customer service for product orders
    • Programming specific administration
    • Data reporting
    • Financial support
  • Canola Performance Trials (CPT) Administration (25-30% role)
    • CPT Program Support, working alongside the CPT Coordinator
    • Governance Committee and Technical Committee administration
    • Communications support, including website updates and annual report
    • General correspondence and facilitation
  • MCGA Administration (20-25% role)
    • Coordinating the Research and Advocacy Committees and MCGA Board
    • Other duties as requested

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in program administration
  • Post Secondary education in agriculture or related field an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, Outlook and Access)
  • Experience taking minutes, updating web content, and writing reports considered an asset
  • Meeting and Event planning experience an asset
  • Experience with project management software an asset
  • Analytical, detail oriented, and organized
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, be organized and set priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Interest to engage with consumers, farmers and industry
  • Experience working for a Not for Profit and Board of Directors considered an asset

What You Need to Know:

  • This role requires flexibility to support multiple areas of the business
  • You may need to occasionally work evenings or weekends to support programs or attend events
  • You must be able to travel within Manitoba, Canada and on occasion outside of Canada
  • You must possess a valid Manitoba Driver’s license and ability to drive with own vehicle
