An engaging and honest discussion about incorporating farm safety, talking about barriers farmers may have, how others have over come those challenges, what regulation and legislation really boils down to, and some of the real benefits farmers get for changing the way they think about farm safety.

9:30am          Registration – Coffee and snacks served

10:00am        Introduction

10:10am        Morag Marjerison, Farm Safety Consultant, Manitoba Farm Safety Program

  • Review the current legislation and regulations in place affecting on farm safety.

10:30am        Ron Krahn, Farmer, Manitoba Canola Growers Board Member

  • Share advantages of incorporating farm safety, both in relation to his business’s bottom line and to his family.

10:50am        Nutrition Break

11:00am        Tracy Gilson or Al Neuveux, Glenlea Research Station

  • Starting a program and growing farm safety at Glenlea Research Station.

11:20am        Local Fire Chief – Firefighter/EMS

  • What firefighters and EMS  want when they show up to an emergency.

11:40am        Presenters Panel with Moderator

  • Q&A with all presenters

12:05pm        Lunch

1:00pm         Wrap up.
